# Jung Eun-chae to Star in 'The Retirement', Shaving Her Head for the Role

Korean actress Jung Eun-chae has been confirmed to star in tvN's new weekend drama 'The Retirement'. She went to great lengths for the role, even cutting her hair short.

'The Retirement' boasts an impressive cast including Kim Tae-ri, Shin Eun-soo, Moon So-ri, and Ra Mi-ran. In addition, Kim Yoon-hye, Woo Da-bi, Jung Ra-el, Seunghee, and most recently, Jung Eun-chae, have joined the lineup. Jung Eun-chae will be playing the role of Moon Ok-kyung in the drama.

Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, 'The Retirement' is set in the 1950s after the Korean War and follows the story of a talented young girl named Jung-nyeon as she joins a women's theater group and grows into a strong woman.

The webtoon 'The Retirement' was first released in April 2019, and the second part was released in May 2020, followed by the third part in 2021. It has also been published as a seven-volume graphic novel.

The drama adaptation of 'The Retirement' has been highly anticipated since its announcement, as the webtoon received a lot of attention and praise for its compelling story and beautiful artwork.

The production of the drama is currently in full swing, with filming scheduled to wrap up in June. It is set to premiere on tvN and Tving in October 2024, airing on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:20 PM. However, the exact broadcast date has not been announced yet.

Directed by Jung Ji-in, who previously worked on 'The Red Sleeve's End', and written by 'Into the Time', 'The Retirement' is expected to be a highly anticipated drama with its star-studded cast and intriguing storyline.
