# Goryeo-Turkic War: Kim Dong-jun's Epic Turn and Record-Breaking Viewership
The 28th episode of KBS 2TV's historical drama 'Goryeo-Turkic War' recorded a viewership rating of 12.7%, breaking its own record and captivating audiences with Kim Dong-jun's dramatic performance.
In this episode, King Hyun-jong faces a tense battle against the rebels led by Choi Jil . The intense confrontation kept viewers on the edge of their seats, with a peak viewership rating of 14.4% during the scene where King Hyun-jong orders his disguised soldiers to eliminate the rebels.
The episode begins with King Hyun-jong's strategic plan to gather all the rebels in one place by provoking Choi Jil. However, Park Jin (played by Lee Jae-yong) catches onto the plan and warns Choi Jil of the danger. Upon arriving at Seogyeong, King Hyun-jong discusses his plan with Ji Chae-mun (played by Han Jae-young) to eliminate the rebels. Meanwhile, King Hyun-jong meets with Won-sung (played by Ha Seung-ri) and shares a tense moment.
King Hyun-jong requests Choi Jil to host a banquet, hoping to get a chance to eliminate the rebels. As the banquet reaches its climax, soldiers disguised as dancers appear and perform a dazzling sword dance. In reality, they were soldiers who followed King Hyun-jong's orders and successfully eliminated the rebels.
In the final scene, King Hyun-jong declares, "I cannot fulfill my duties as an emperor if I am only trapped by my compassion. From now on, I will be a strong ruler who is willing to wield a sword for the sake of Goryeo." This powerful declaration left a lasting impression on viewers.
'Goryeo-Turkic War' airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 PM. With Kim Dong-jun's outstanding performance and the intense storyline, it's no surprise that the drama continues to break its own viewership records.
As a fan of historical dramas, I have been thoroughly enjoying 'Goryeo-Turkic War' and this episode was no exception. Kim Dong-jun's portrayal of King Hyun-jong's transformation from a compassionate ruler to a strong leader was truly remarkable. I can't wait to see what the next episode has in store for us.
