In a groundbreaking move, Sony Interactive Entertainment has chosen K-Pop singer and actress Kim Sejeong as the new face of PlayStation in Asia. This marks the first time that a K-Pop idol has been selected to represent PlayStation in the region, a decision made by SIE's Asia headquarters in collaboration with representatives from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea.

According to sources, Kim Sejeong has already completed filming for the new PlayStation ad, set to be released online starting this Lunar New Year. The ad will feature the popular PlayStation 5 and promote various services offered by the brand. In addition to online promotions, Kim Sejeong's likeness will also be featured in official PlayStation stores, including life-size cutouts.

 

The decision to choose a former K-Pop idol as the face of PlayStation in Asia is a testament to the growing influence of K-Dramas in the region. Kim Sejeong, known for her roles in hit dramas like "The Uncanny Counter" and "The Office Blind Date," has gained immense popularity in countries like Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

When reached for comment, a representative from Sony Interactive Entertainment Korea (SIEK) confirmed that Kim Sejeong will indeed be the new face of PlayStation in Asia. They also hinted at a possible official announcement in the near future.
