17 Years of Battling 'Cerebral Infarction' The 4 Laws of Premonitory Symptoms
# 17 Years of Struggle with 'Cerebral Infarction': The 4 Rules of Early Warning Signs
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of singer Bang Sil-yi. The deceased had been battling cerebral infarction for 17 years, evoking much sympathy from the public. Cerebral infarction is a type of stroke that is the opposite of cerebral hemorrhage.
Stroke is a general term that encompasses both cerebral infarction, which occurs when the blood vessels that supply blood to the brain become blocked, and cerebral hemorrhage, which occurs when the blood vessels burst and cause bleeding in the brain. As the condition is closely related to the state of the blood vessels, the risk of stroke increases on days with low temperatures, when blood vessels constrict more frequently.
!
Cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage share common symptoms such as paralysis of one side of the body, sensory abnormalities, and slurred speech. However, cerebral hemorrhage is often accompanied by severe headaches and vomiting due to increased pressure in the brain. Other symptoms may include seizures, convulsions, and loss of consciousness.
To quickly recognize and treat the warning signs of stroke, it is helpful to know the FAST method. The acronym stands for Face, Arm, Speech, and Time, representing the characteristic premonitory symptoms of stroke. First, if one side of the mouth droops when smiling, it is a sign of Face. Arm refers to the loss of strength or numbness in one arm when raised. Speech indicates slurred speech or difficulty speaking. Lastly, if any of these symptoms occur, it is crucial to act quickly and seek medical attention.
Individuals with high-risk factors such as hypertension, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, heart disease, diabetes, and advanced age should be especially cautious. To prevent stroke, it is essential to avoid smoking, excessive drinking, and overeating.
As someone who has personally witnessed the effects of cerebral infarction, I cannot stress enough the importance of recognizing the early warning signs and seeking immediate medical attention. Let us all take care of our health and be mindful of the risk factors that can lead to stroke. Remember, prevention is always better than cure. Stay healthy, everyone!
