It's been 8 years since actress Hwang Jung-eum tied the knot and 3 years since their reunion, but they are now facing a difficult time in their marriage. In a heartfelt social media post, Hwang Jung-eum announced that they are currently going through a divorce.

According to Hwang Jung-eum's agency, Why Entertainment, on the 22nd, "After much contemplation, Hwang Jung-eum has made the difficult decision that it is no longer possible to maintain their marriage and is currently going through a divorce lawsuit." They also added, "Due to the personal nature of the divorce, we ask for your understanding that we cannot disclose any further details about the reason for the divorce."

 

The agency also urged the public to refrain from spreading rumors and provocative reports that may harm the reputation of both parties and their children.

This news comes as a surprise to many as Hwang Jung-eum had previously shared a photo of her husband, Lee Young-don, on her social media with a caption that read, "My kind and beautiful husband. I've had such a fun and busy time with my husband since we got married. Now, just enjoy and relax." However, a netizen left a comment saying, "I can't reach Young-don." To which Hwang Jung-eum replied, "That's understandable. He's been busy lately, so he'll probably ramble on when he calls."

Hwang Jung-eum and Lee Young-don got married in 2016, but after 4 years of marriage, they filed for divorce in 2009. However, they were able to overcome their differences and reunited in 2022, even announcing the news of their second child.

It's always sad to hear about a celebrity couple going through a divorce, especially after they have worked hard to reconcile. It's a reminder that even in the glamorous world of entertainment, relationships are not always perfect.
