The actress Isom, who gained recognition with the provocative film 'Madame Bbaengdeok', has sparked rumors of retirement through the Tving original series 'LTNS'. The plot of the series can be summed up in one line: a sexless couple who blackmails each other. However, within that lies emotions that make one wonder, "Have we ever seen such a gap in emotions in a Korean series?" And for the first time, we get to see Isom's face in this series.
'LTNS' was co-directed by Jeon Go-woon, who directed the film 'Microhabitat', and Lim Dae-hyung, who directed 'Merry Christmas, Yoonhee'. Isom and Ahn Jae-hong, the lead actors, reunite for the third time in this series. They previously worked together in the film 'Microhabitat' and Ahn Jae-hong's short film 'Fluttering Fluttering Fluttering Heart'. Isom felt both joy and "intensity" in their reunion.
"I have a lot of affection for the film 'Microhabitat' and the director Jeon Go-woon. I was worried that if I didn't do well in 'LTNS', I would disappoint someone I admire so much. So, I was more focused on doing well than the joy of reuniting. Fortunately, the two directors and Ahn Jae-hong all had the same goal of shooting many scenes without getting bored within the given time frame. We were able to work together more smoothly because we understood each other's styles."
In my opinion, Isom's performance in 'LTNS' was outstanding and showed her versatility as an actress. It's a shame that rumors of her retirement overshadowed her amazing work in this series. I hope she continues to surprise us with her talent in the future.
