# Why It's Not 'Goryeo-Song War' But 'Goryeo-Jurchen War'

The recent KBS 2TV drama 'Korean Invasion War' has been the talk of the town, with its intense storyline and captivating characters. However, as a viewer, there was one aspect of the drama that left me feeling disappointed - the focus on the palace women's jealousy and schemes.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for exploring the stories of palace women in historical dramas. But in this case, it felt like a missed opportunity. Instead of showcasing the strength and complexity of these women, the drama chose to portray them as one-dimensional characters solely driven by jealousy and causing trouble amidst the chaos of the war.

 

It's a shame because the drama had so much potential to delve into the lives of these women and their struggles in the palace. But instead, it chose to focus on their petty actions, taking away from the overall appeal of the drama.

However, despite this flaw, 'Korean Invasion War' still managed to capture the hearts of viewers with its intense plot and thought-provoking dialogue. The words spoken by the characters, especially in moments where the fate of the country hangs in the balance, were powerful and left a lasting impact.

As a fan of historical dramas, I appreciate the effort put into bringing real-life events to the small screen. But I also hope that in the future, dramas like 'Korean Invasion War' will not shy away from exploring the stories of all characters, including palace women, in a more nuanced and meaningful way.

Overall, 'Korean Invasion War' may have had its flaws, but it still managed to leave a lasting impression on viewers. And for that, it deserves recognition as a well-made drama that shed light on a lesser-known part of Korean history - the Goryeo-Jurchen War.
