'Wonderful World' Kim Nam-joo Enjoyed My Mother's Life Happily During 6-Year Hiatus
# 'Wonderful World' Kim Nam-joo Enjoyed My Mother's Life Happily During 6-Year Hiatus
Actress Kim Nam-joo recently shared that she spent the past 6 years happily living life as a mother. On the 29th of October, the drama 'Wonderful World' held a production presentation at MBC in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Kim Nam-joo, Cha Eun-woo, Kim Kang-woo, Im Se-mi, and director Lee Seung-young were present to introduce the drama.
Kim Nam-joo, who is returning to the small screen after 6 years since 'Misty', shared about her hiatus, "During the past 6 years, I spent my time happily with my children." She added, "Instead of worrying about my next project, I enjoyed my life as a mother and found happiness in it."
When asked about the similarity in genre between 'Misty' and 'Wonderful World', Kim Nam-joo confidently stated, "I choose projects based on my heart rather than the genre. Although the subject or genre may be similar, the characters are completely different from my previous work. I focused on expressing and acting out the character. The past 6 years did not influence my decision to choose this project."
She continued, "During the 6-year hiatus, I lived as a mother and now that my children have grown up, they don't need me as much. Just when I was questioning if I should go back to work, this project came along and captured my heart. I didn't want to regret it if I let this opportunity pass by, so I chose it."
In 'Wonderful World', Kim Nam-joo plays the role of Eun Soo-hyun, a successful psychology professor and famous writer. She had a perfect life until she lost her young son and even her hope was taken away. In the end, she takes matters into her own hands and seeks revenge on the perpetrator.
Kim Nam-joo shared, "I started with a strong maternal instinct when choosing this role. If I can represent the hearts of mothers in the world, it would be an honor." She added, "As a mother myself, I can relate to the character and her emotions. I hope this drama will resonate with the viewers and bring comfort and healing to those who are going through similar struggles."
It's heartwarming to see Kim Nam-joo return to the small screen after a long hiatus and we can't wait to see her in 'Wonderful World'. Let's support and cheer on Kim Nam-joo as she takes on this new challenge as an actress and a mother.
