Online communities are buzzing with the recent appearance of actor Jo Seung-woo on a YouTube video, where he candidly talks about his feelings after winning an MBC Drama Award in the past.
On March 3, 2024, Jo Seung-woo made his first appearance on actor Jung Jae-hyung's YouTube channel, "Fairy Jae-hyung," in a video titled "Jo Seung-woo's First YouTube Outing... It's Happening?"
In the video, Jo Seung-woo shared, "I just finished a performance in Daegu the day before yesterday and came back to Seoul yesterday. While I was performing in Daegu, I received an offer to appear on 'Fairy Jae-hyung' and I said 'sure'." He then added, "There's nothing to promote, the food looks delicious, and I get to visit someone's house, so I thought why not come out while I'm at it."
The video also touched upon Jo Seung-woo's recent achievement of winning Best Actor at the Musical Awards in January. He humbly shared, "I made my musical debut in 2000, and it's been 24 years, but I've only done 13 productions. Because I've been doing encores and seasonal shows, the number of productions hasn't increased much, so I feel like I'm stuck in a rut."
He continued, "Many people may think I've won a lot of awards, but I've only received three for 'Jekyll and Hyde,' 'Man of La Mancha,' and 'Dr. Zhivago.' 'The Phantom of the Opera' was my fourth award and my first lead role award in my 40s." He then shared his thoughts on the competition, saying, "At the time, the other nominees were Choi Jae-lim, Hong Kwang-ho, Park Kang-hyun, and Kim Joon-soo. I felt like this production was a huge mountain for me and it wasn't in my vocal range. It took me over two years to prepare for it."
