[My Daily = Reporter Lee Ye-ju] Is this the birth of a new Hallyu star? Actor Chae Jong-hyup's popularity is no joke. He captured the hearts of women with his bold role as a younger man.
Starting from the 23rd, TBS, a private broadcasting station in Japan, will air Chae Jong-hyup's drama 'I Love You' every Tuesday at 10 PM, during the prime time slot. In the drama, Chae Jong-hyup plays the role of Yoon Tae-oh, a Korean exchange student, and co-stars with actress Nikaido Fumi, who won the Best Actress Award at the Japanese Academy.
'I Love You' tells the love story between Motomiya Yuri (Nikaido Fumi), a chocolate shop owner with the ability to read minds when looking into someone's eyes, and Yoon Tae-oh, a Korean exchange student studying endangered animals. The female lead, who is skeptical of love due to her ability, falls in love with the cheerful and sociable male lead, breaking the language barrier.

The drama also joins in on the Korean wave in Japan, with Korean language appearing whenever the female lead reads the male lead's mind, as well as featuring Korean dishes such as bibimbap and tteokbokki.
'I Love You' has already topped the Japanese Netflix Top 10 charts since its release on the 25th, showing its success. This is expected to open up more opportunities for Korean actors to shine in Japanese dramas.

Meanwhile, Chae Jong-hyup has already received love from Japanese viewers through his previous drama 'Diva of the Desert' on tvN. When 'Diva of the Desert' topped the Japanese Netflix TV show category, it gained popularity, leading to the rise of the male lead.
As a fan of Korean actors and Japanese dramas, I am excited to see Chae Jong-hyup's rising popularity in Japan. His talent and charm are definitely deserving of recognition, and I can't wait to see more of his work in the future. With his success, I hope to see more opportunities for Korean actors to showcase their talents in Japanese dramas. Keep shining, Chae Jong-hyup!"
