As a fan of Kdramas, I am eagerly anticipating the premiere of SBS's new drama 'Wealthy Heir and Detective' on the upcoming Friday and Saturday slot. The drama boasts a star-studded cast, with actors Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Ji-hyun reuniting after their chemistry in 'Yumi's Cells'. But with recent SBS dramas struggling to maintain high ratings, can this drama be the one to turn things around?

Previous SBS dramas such as 'Fire Station Next to Police Station and National Water Service' and '7 Escapees' failed to reach double-digit ratings, with the latter only managing a disappointing 7.7%. Even the highly anticipated 'My Demon', starring Kim Yoo-jung and Song Kang, could only achieve a measly 4.7% in ratings. The only solace for the network was the drama's success on Netflix, ranking second in the non-English TV category and fourth in the world.

With such pressure to succeed, 'Wealthy Heir and Detective' has a lot riding on its shoulders. It will be competing against MBC's 'Flower Blooming at Night' in the same time slot, while Saturday offers a variety of options such as KBS 2TV's 'Korean War with Goryeo', TV Chosun's 'My Happy Ending', and JTBC's 'Dr. Slump'.

As a Kdrama fan, I can't help but feel anxious for the success of 'Wealthy Heir and Detective'. I hope the drama lives up to its potential and brings back the glory days of SBS's Friday and Saturday dramas. But at the same time, I also understand the challenges and unpredictable nature of the industry. Only time will tell if this drama will be the one to break the recent ratings slump for SBS.
