Kim Dong-jun and Ha Seung-ri's Decision to Join 'The War of Goryeo and Goryeo' Leads to 10.1% Ratings Recovery
In the latest episode of KBS2's historical drama "Korean War", which aired on the 21st, Kim Dong-jun, playing the role of Hyun-jong, brought a sense of satisfaction to viewers as he married Ha Seung-ri (played by Choi Seung-yeon) and saved Choi Soo-jong (played by Kim Eun-woo) from crisis.
The 20th episode of "Korean War" showed Hyun-jong officially taking Ha Seung-ri as his wife and embarking on a journey to save Kang Gam-chan (played by Choi Soo-jong) with the help of his advisors and the Anmusas (officials in charge of external affairs during the Korean dynasty). This also marked the beginning of a major regional reform.
The episode recorded a nationwide household rating of 10.1%, according to Nielsen Korea, regaining its position as a double-digit viewer in just one episode (the 19th episode recorded 7.9%). The scenes of Hyun-jong discussing the dispatch of Anmusas with his advisors and Ha Seung-ri overhearing the palace maids' gossip reached a peak rating of 10.9%, making it the most-watched minute of the episode.
On this day, Hyun-jong declared that he would welcome Ha Seung-ri, the daughter of Kim Eun-boo, as the queen of Korea, following the advice of Kang Gam-chan. He also stated that he could forgive all of Kim Eun-boo's sins as the emperor's father-in-law and the royal physician, and anyone who mentions his sins would be considered as insulting the royal family.
Upon hearing this news, Queen Wonjeong (played by Lee Si-ah) argued that the opposition from the nobles would only get stronger and that Ha Seung-ri, who is not of royal blood, cannot become the queen. In response, Hyun-jong said, "The path for the queen and I has changed. What the queen is trying to protect is what I am trying to break." This showed his unfortunate feelings towards Queen Wonjeong.
The Korean War was a significant event in our history, and this drama does an excellent job of portraying the struggles and sacrifices made during that time. The 20th episode was a turning point in the story, and it left viewers on the edge of their seats. The performances of the actors, especially Kim Dong-jun and Choi Seung-yeon, were outstanding, making the episode even more captivating.
Overall, "Korean War" continues to impress with its compelling storyline, impressive acting, and attention to historical accuracy. As a viewer, I am eagerly anticipating the next episode and the developments in Hyun-jong and Ha Seung-ri's relationship. This drama is a must-watch for anyone interested in the Korean War and its impact on our country's history.
