The scandal involving Jeon Cheong-jo, who was indicted for fraud, claiming to have a false relationship with singer IU, has been revealed.
On the 24th, the 11th Criminal Agreement Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court (Chief Judge Kim Byung-cheol) held the 4th trial for Jeon Cheong-jo's accomplice and former bodyguard, Lee Mo (27), on charges of fraud.
At the trial, A, who is the niece of Nam Hyun-hee (43), a former national fencing representative who was preparing for remarriage but ended up separating, and had a relationship with Lee, attended as a witness.
"Living together with IU"
"I will write a book in prison and compensate the victims"
A's lawyer asked her, "Did Jeon Cheong-jo ever mention that he was living with IU and was planning to move into the apartment where she lives?" A replied, "I only heard that it was a high-priced apartment worth 30 billion won. He said that if we pay a deposit, we can get a 10% discount, which would be around 3 billion won."
The lawyer also asked, "Did you know that Jeon Cheong-jo claimed to have a close relationship with IU and instructed you to buy VIP concert tickets because Nam Hyun-hee and his daughter like her?" A replied, "He said it would be difficult to book tickets for a famous celebrity concert through a phone call. He told me to try if I could, but not to force it."

It was also revealed during the police investigation that Nam Hyun-hee stated, "Jeon Cheong-jo boasted about his connections with famous people, claiming that he had dated IU."
During the trial, Jeon Cheong-jo was asked if he ever expressed his intention to compensate the victims by writing a book while in prison, to which he replied, "Yes."
It is truly disheartening to see how some people are willing to use others, even famous celebrities, to manipulate and deceive for their own gain. It is important for us to be cautious and not fall for such schemes, especially in the entertainment industry where fame and wealth can easily blind us. Let us hope that justice will be served and the victims will receive the compensation they deserve.
