NewJins, a K-Pop girl group, has made a new record on the Billboard main album chart in the United States for the longest charting period. According to the latest Billboard chart released on January 23rd, NewJins' second EP 'Get Up' ranked at 197th on the Billboard 200. This album has been on the chart for 26 consecutive weeks since entering at number one on the Billboard 200 on August 5th of last year.
With this achievement, NewJins has not only broken the record for the longest charting period by a 4th generation K-Pop group on this chart, but also set a new record for the longest charting period by a debut K-Pop girl group in just one year and six months, proving their unrivaled global popularity.
The title track of 'Get Up', 'Super Shy', has also been performing well on global charts. This song has maintained its position on the Global (excluding the US) chart at 79th and the Global 200 chart at 121st for 28 consecutive weeks. Another title track from 'Get Up', 'ETA', ranked at 154th on the Global (excluding the US) chart.
NewJins' previous releases are also receiving love from the charts. Their 2023 hit song 'Ditto' reached 184th on the Global 200 chart and has been charting for a total of 57 weeks on the Global (excluding the US) chart at 94th. 'OMG' also ranked at 93rd on the Global (excluding the US) chart and 179th on the Global 200 chart.
Meanwhile, NewJins has been nominated for 'K-Pop Song of the Year' and 'Best New Artist (K-Pop)' at the upcoming 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 1st in the US.
As a fan of NewJins, I am extremely proud of their achievements on the Billboard 200 chart. It is amazing to see a K-Pop girl group breaking records and gaining recognition on a global scale. I am excited to see what they will accomplish in the future and will continue to support them on their journey. Keep shining, NewJins!"
