SEVENTEEN's Subunit 'Tourist' Debuting at
Kpop group TWS (Tours) has taken the music industry by storm with their debut album, 'Sparkling Blue', which has shot straight to the top of the album charts, solidifying their position as one of the most highly anticipated acts of the year. According to the album sales tracking site Hanteo Chart, TWS (composed of members Shin Yu, Do Hoon, Young Jae, Han Jin, Ji Hoon, and Kyung Min) sold an impressive 206,240 copies of their mini 1st album on the day of its release, claiming the number one spot on the daily physical album chart for January 22nd.
But it's not just album sales that TWS has dominated. Within just one hour of its release, all of the tracks from 'Sparkling Blue' had entered the top 100 on major Korean music site Melon's 'Hot 100' chart. The title track, "First Meeting Didn't Go According to Plan", even reached a peak of 26th place and continues to hold its position in the charts as of January 23rd at 10am KST.
The group's impressive success is not limited to domestic charts, as their album has also made its mark on international charts. As of January 22nd, 'Sparkling Blue' has entered the top album charts on iTunes in a total of 11 countries/regions. It even reached number one in Thailand and India, and has charted in Japan, UK, Italy, Netherlands, Mexico, and Turkey. The title track, "First Meeting Didn't Go According to Plan", has also entered the top song charts on iTunes in 6 countries/regions, while the track "Unplugged Boy" has charted in 3 countries/regions.
TWS's explosive debut and their swift rise to the top of both domestic and international charts is a testament to their undeniable talent and appeal. It's clear that they have captured the hearts of fans not just in Korea, but all over the world. As a Kpop fan myself, I am excited to see what TWS has in store for us in the future and I have no doubt that they will continue to make their mark on the music industry. Congratulations to TWS on their well-deserved success and here's to many more achievements to come!
