As a fan of the TaegeukMark, I was well aware of the mixed reactions towards the series. However, both Jeong and Kang emphasized the sincerity and effort put into the creation of 'KyeongseongCreature' while expressing their hopes for the upcoming season 2.

Set in the darkest period of 1945, where survival was the only goal, 'KyeongseongCreature' gained attention as a monster film set in the Japanese colonial era. Unlike other monster films, it did not focus on providing thrills and excitement through the creatures, but instead portrayed the struggles of those who lived through that era, creating a unique atmosphere.

However, some viewers expressed disappointment with the unexpected plot twists. Director Jeong and writer Kang shared their regret, saying, "We think some viewers were disappointed with the unexpected developments." They also emphasized the importance of the historical background in creating a different type of work.

"I think the title may have led to high expectations for a certain genre. But when I was writing, I focused on the historical aspect. I wanted to write as if I was venting my frustrations. Among the many themes, I chose two: survival and existence. Many people died while working in the fields, and sons who went to reunions suddenly disappeared. I wanted to develop the story around these two keywords."

"I also thought about the story while preparing for it, and I wanted to tell a story about fighting against monsters."
