Recently, the hit song "Seven" by BTS member Jungkook has disappeared from the popular video sharing platform TikTok. According to industry insiders, TikTok has stopped providing Jungkook's "Seven" and "Standing Next To You" since January 27. Other K-pop artists such as Blackpink and their hit songs "Pink Venom" and "Kill This Love" have also been removed, along with solo songs from the members. Additionally, popular songs from other artists like NewJeans' "OMG" and Le Seraphim's "Eve, Psyche, and the Wife of the Bluebeard" have also been hidden from TikTok users.

This is all a result of the failed contract negotiations between TikTok and UMG. The music company claims that TikTok has not been paying proper usage fees, leading to the termination of their contract at the end of January. As a result, TikTok has been blocking a large number of K-pop songs from being used on their platform since February 1, affecting not only Korean users but also international users.

This controversy has sparked discussions about the impact of TikTok on the K-pop industry. While the platform has been a popular tool for promoting music and connecting with fans, it also raises questions about fair compensation for artists and their music. As a fan of K-pop and BTS, it's disheartening to see their music being caught in the middle of this dispute.
