Angry K-Pop Idol Members Sell Gifts from Fans on Online Marketplace for Expensive Prices Fans Outraged
# K-Pop Idols Selling Fan Gifts on Online Marketplace Sparks Controversy
A recent post by a fan of a 7-member boy group has caused quite a stir as they revealed that one of the members had put up a gift they received from the fan for sale on an online marketplace.
The post, shared on January 28th by user A, stated that member B of the popular boy group had listed a branded item on a secondhand trading platform called "Lightning Market" last month for 150,000 won . In the product description, B wrote, "I bought this in Japan for around 270,000 to 280,000 won this fall. After washing it once, the print started to fade, so I'm selling it cheaply."
Upon seeing the post, user A checked the seller's information and found that two characters in their name matched with member B's name. The seller had also verified their identity on the app. When A confronted B about the sale, B admitted to their mistake, saying, "I'm sorry. I think I just didn't think it through."
A then expressed their disappointment, saying, "You know how much I like you. If you understand from my perspective, I want to understand and move on." To which B responded, "I also have a lot on my mind during the end of the year, and I tend to relieve stress by buying things I want. But I can't bring myself to ask my parents for money, so I acted impulsively. I'm so sorry."
This incident has sparked a debate among fans about the ethics of selling gifts given by fans. Some argue that idols have the right to do whatever they want with the gifts they receive, while others believe that it goes against the spirit of gift-giving and appreciation.
As a K-Pop fan myself, I can understand both sides of the argument. On one hand, idols are human beings who have the right to do what they want with their possessions. On the other hand, fans put a lot of thought and effort into choosing and giving gifts to their idols, and it can feel hurtful to see those gifts being sold.
In the end, I believe it's important for idols to be mindful of their actions and the impact it can have on their fans. And as fans, we should also remember that idols are not obligated to keep every gift they receive and should respect their decisions. Let's continue to support our favorite idols and show our love in a positive and respectful manner.
