# BTS Jungkook Ranks 10th on IFPI's '2023 Global Single Chart'...The Only K-Artist

BTS member Jungkook has made it onto the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry's '2023 Global Single Chart' top 10.

On April 26th , IFPI announced their annual list of music industry trends, with Jungkook's first solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' ranking 10th on the chart. As a member of IFPI, which has over 8,000 record labels as members, this achievement is significant for the K-pop industry.

 

The 'Global Single Chart' combines data from paid subscription streaming and single track downloads to determine the rankings. This year, artists such as Miley Cyrus, SZA, Harry Styles, and Taylor Swift made the list with their songs 'Flower', 'Kill Bill', 'As It Was', and 'Cruel Summer', respectively. Jungkook is the only Korean artist to be featured on the chart, solidifying his status as a global pop star.

Jungkook's solo debut with 'Seven' has already made an impact on the IFPI chart, showcasing his potential as a solo artist. He follows in the footsteps of Psy, who became the first Korean artist to enter the chart with 'Gangnam Style' in 2012, and BTS, who dominated the chart in 2020 and 2021 with 'Dynamite' and 'Butter'. Jungkook's achievement marks the first time a Korean artist has made it onto the chart as both a solo artist and a member of a group.

Released last year, 'Seven' quickly gained worldwide popularity, topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart and solidifying Jungkook's position as a rising solo artist. As a fan of BTS and Jungkook, I am proud to see him achieve such success on a global scale.
