# 'Han Gregory Peck' Late Namgoong Won, Leaves with a Beautiful Smile in the Portrait

The Korean film industry has lost one of its veteran actors, Namgoong Won, who was often referred to as the 'Han Gregory Peck'. The news of his passing was announced on February 5th, at the age of 90, after battling lung cancer for several years.

The funeral hall was set up at the Seoul Asan Hospital on February 6th, where a public viewing of the late actor's portrait was held. The portrait captured Namgoong Won's charming smile, which he was known for during his active years as an actor in the 1960s and 1970s.

Namgoong Won, whose real name was Hong Kyung-il, was a prominent figure in the Korean film industry during the 1960s. Standing at over 180cm tall with western features, he was often compared to the famous Hollywood actor, Gregory Peck. Despite having plans to study abroad in the United States, Namgoong Won joined the film industry to support his family after his mother was diagnosed with cancer.

As a fan of classic Korean films, I am deeply saddened by the loss of such a talented and respected actor. Namgoong Won's legacy will continue to live on through his iconic roles and beautiful smile in his portrait. Rest in peace, 'Han Gregory Peck'.
