# SEVENTEEN's 'FML' Ranks as the Best-Selling Album Worldwide Last Year

SEVENTEEN, one of the top K-pop groups, has achieved an incredible feat with their tenth mini album 'FML' being recognized as the best-selling album worldwide last year. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry , 'FML' surpassed other popular albums such as Morgan Wallen's 'One Thing At A Time' and Taylor Swift's 'Midnights' to claim the top spot on the '2023 Global Album Chart'.

This is not the first time SEVENTEEN has made it to the top 10 of this chart. Their fourth full-length album 'Face the Sun' ranked 7th in 2022, and they have once again proven their global popularity by taking the number one spot within just a year. In fact, SEVENTEEN's previous mini album 'SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN' also made it to the top 10 of the 'Global Album Chart' last year, ranking 8th.

 

IFPI, with over 8,000 members in the music industry, releases an annual list of top-selling albums based on physical album sales, digital downloads, and audio/video streaming. The 'Global Album Chart' is considered to be one of the most objective indicators of an album's success in the music market.

SEVENTEEN's 'FML' and 'SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN' have sold a total of 16 million copies worldwide. 'FML' alone has sold 6.27 million copies, setting a new record for the best-selling single album in K-pop history. 'SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN' also made history by surpassing 5 million copies in its first week of release, the first time a K-pop album has achieved this feat.

Louis Morrison, IFPI's Global Chart Manager, commented, "SEVENTEEN's 'FML' has achieved an unbelievable success worldwide. Their consistent record-breaking sales prove their immense popularity not just in Korea, but also globally."
