The Resurrection of National Drama... '1958 Detective Chief' Lee Jehoon and Choi Boolam Meet
# The Revival of National Drama... '1958 Detective Chief' Lee Jehoon and Choi Boolam Meet
As a fan of Korean dramas, I am always on the lookout for new and exciting shows to watch. And I couldn't be more thrilled about the upcoming MBC drama, '1958 Detective Chief', set to air in April.
This new drama is a prequel to the popular 'Detective Chief' series, which has made its mark in the history of Korean detective dramas. Set in 1958, it follows the story of detective Park Young-han as he is transferred to Seoul. In a time of chaos and corruption, Park Young-han and his team of unique detectives work together to fight against the corrupt powers and bring justice to the people.
What makes this drama stand out is its retro setting and the use of analog detective methods. In a world filled with modern technology, it's refreshing to see a drama that relies on natural instincts and determination to solve crimes. And with the talented director Kim Sung-hoon, known for his visually stunning films like 'Confidential Assignment' and 'Rampant', at the helm, I have no doubt that this drama will be a visual treat.
But it's not just the director that has me excited. The drama is written by rising star writer Kim Young-shin, who has previously worked on popular dramas like 'Old School Intern' and 'Black Sun'. And joining her is Park Jae-beom, known for his work on hit dramas like 'Kim Manager', 'Hot Blooded Priest', and 'Vincenzo'. With such a strong team behind the scenes, I have high expectations for this drama.
At the recent script reading, director Kim Sung-hoon, writer Kim Young-shin, and the talented cast, including Lee Jehoon, Lee Dong-hwi, Choi Woo-sung, Yoon Hyun-soo, Seo Eun-soo, Choi Duk-moon, and Jung Soo-bin, came together to bring the characters to life. And I must say, their chemistry and energy were palpable even through the photos. I can't wait to see their performances on screen.
As a fan of the original 'Detective Chief' series, I am excited to see the story of Park Young-han's early days as a detective. And with the addition of Choi Boolam, who played the original Park Young-han, as a special guest, it's a treat for fans of the series.
I have no doubt that '1958 Detective Chief' will be a hit, with its unique concept, talented cast, and experienced production team. And as a fan of Korean dramas, I am eagerly counting down the days until its premiere. Are you excited for this drama too? Let me know in the comments below!
