Who is the Bully at the Packed High-end Restaurant that Said 'Move Your Seat' to Me an Actor?
# Who is the Bully at the Packed High-end Restaurant that Said 'Move Your Seat' to Me, an Actor?
Recently, a case of bullying at a high-end restaurant where an actor and their manager demanded to be given a reserved table has been making headlines.
On the 2nd of this month, a video was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Workman' featuring broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu experiencing part-time work at a fine dining restaurant in Sinsa-dong.
In the video, Jang Sung-kyu asked the managing and sommelier staff about the wine served at the restaurant, "Have you ever had any troublesome customers?"
The staff replied, "Too many. There are a lot of people who turn into animals because of alcohol. Some people even defecate in the men's bathroom, and although it has decreased, there have been cases of sexual harassment as well."
Jang Sung-kyu commented, "We try our best to maintain manners, but these people don't seem to care about manners at all. Do we still have to maintain our manners for them?" The staff responded, "We kick them out. There have been cases where they were kicked out."
Jang Sung-kyu then asked, "Do a lot of celebrities come here? Have you had any troublesome celebrities?" The staff replied, "I told them we were fully booked, but their manager called and said, 'We're bringing in actor ○○○, so make sure to reserve a table for us.' And when I told them it wasn't possible, the actor themselves called and said, 'It's me, ○○○, can't you make an exception?'"
Jang Sung-kyu was shocked and asked, "Really? Did the celebrity themselves call and ask to be seated?" The production team of 'Workman' added a subtitle saying, "Maybe they should learn some ethics first."
It's disappointing to hear that even in a high-end restaurant, there are people who think they can bully their way into getting what they want. As an actor, I believe it's important to treat everyone with respect and not use our status to demand special treatment. Let's all strive to be better and not let fame get to our heads.
